What is the Owners Corporation (OC)?

You are. All apartment owners make up the Owners Corporation (OC). That means you have rights (to vote etc) and responsibilities (abide by the OC rules).

What is the Owners Corporation Committee (OCC)?

The Owners Corporation Committee (OCC) are volunteers from among your fellow residents. Each year, you as the OC (see above) elect the Owners Corporation Committee (OCC) at the Annual General Meeting. The AGM is held in September or October.

Why we have an OCC?

The OCC represent owners, makes decisions on your behalf and administers the OC Rules fairly to everyone in the building. The OCC also administers the annual budget.

Are tenants represented on the OCC?

Strictly speaking, the OCC represents owners (not tenants), but at Wurru wurru biik, the OCC wants tenants considered in all decisions. We invite tenants to get involved with the OCC. For example, you could submit ideas, attend meetings, join working groups and introduce yourself to committee members.

How do you join the OCC?

Any owner can nominate to become a member of the committee at the AGM. However, the committee welcomes any and all help from you at any time. Please contact the OCC on the oc-committee discord channel

How does the OCC function?

Meetings

The OC Committee meets every six weeks on Tuesday evening, from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Please refer to the discord calendar of events for the next meeting date.

Residents are invited to attend meetings, as observers or as contributors.

Agendas and minutes

About a week before each meeting, the OCC creates an agenda and The Knight sends it to all owners by email.

After the meeting, the OCC creates minutes and The Knight distributes these which contains a record of all the decisions made on your behalf.

Considering ideas

If you have an idea for the OCC, add it to the agenda here. It’s best to say what your idea is, why it is important, and, if relevant, what you think it costs.
